Advent Wreaths and Candy Houses

As we begin the Advent season this coming Sunday, December 2nd, there are many things that are happening in the life of the church. Two that we DON’T want you to miss are when we come together to make Advent wreaths and Candy Houses.

Both are a fun time of fellowship (and food – yes, there will be dinner!) We need to get a head count on everyone who is planning to come, so we’ll have enough food as well as supplies. Please take a moment TODAY and click on the this link, https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409084dadac23a4f85-advent and sign up for one or both events!

Thanksgiving Meals: In years past, the Beacons have sold pumpkins during the Autumn Leaves Festival to feed the hungry in our community for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, they were unable to get pumpkins this year due to all of the rain.  However, they know the need to feed the hungry is still there.  They had a bake sale to jump start the proceeds.  They would love to be able to feed 50 families; so far we have funds for 37 meals.  Meals are $45.00 each.  If you would like to sponsor a family, please get a check or cash to Joy Barlow or Margaret McGuire by Thursday, November 15thPlease make your gift separate than your regular giving to the church. If you are writing a check, make it to: FPC Beacons.  Thank you for helping us feed the folks in our community as well as those at the Shepherd’s House & Children’s Center.
