Spirits and the Church: Wednesday, December 2nd, Mayberry Distillery, 7:30 p.m. A class on the history of alcohol & Christianity – (Lecture/$5; Lecture & Tasting/$10 – See Blanton Youell for more info)

Faith Friends/Thursday Tales: (Preschool-5th grade) December 3rd at 3:30 p.m.

Tree Lighting & Hot Chocolate: Thursday, December 3rd; 6:00 p.m. Join us for the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree (at City Hall) and the sounds of the season. The Beacons will be serving hot chocolate.

Beacons to Operation Christmas Child: Meet at the church on Saturday, December 5th, at 3:00 p.m. as we head to Charlotte to pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. You will need money for dinner. You MUST be at least 13.

Gifts in a Jar Fundraiser: The Beacons will be selling these for the holidays. All monies and orders must be turned in by December 6th.

B.R.E.W.S. & W.o.W. Fellowship Mixer: Both groups will gather for a family-friendly event at the Youell’s house on Friday, December 11th, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Please RSVP to Blanton at blantonyou@gmail.com by Monday, December 7th.

WITNESS

Friends Feeding Friends: Thursday, December 3rd at First Baptist Church. Signed up to assist are: Steven Lowe, Mae Daniels, Mike Gatchel, Bobbie Hinton, Joy & Wayne Barlow.

Sandwich Saturday: December 5th; The Beacons will be assisting with preparation.

Offering for Hunger & Hope: We will receive our Pennies for Hunger & Yokefellow offerings next Sunday, December 6th. Foods for the month of December are: Canned Milk and Canned Pasta.

STEWARDSHIP UPDATE

Last Sunday was Dedication Sunday. To date, we have received pledges from 41 families in the amount of $129,349.00. If you haven’t pledged, but wish to do so, please fill out the form in the bulletin and drop it in the offering plate. Thank you!

CHURCH MINISTRIES

Thanksgiving Feast: Join us for our 8th Annual Thanksgiving Feast immediately following worship today as we come together to give thanks for many things.

Confirmation Meeting: Will be held at Shasta’s house at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon.

Beacons: (6th-12th grade) Will meet in the Tiki Room this evening from 5:30-8:00 p.m. The Petri family will provide dinner.

Faith Friends/Thursday Tales: (Preschool-5th grade) Will meet on November 19th, at 3:30 p.m.

College Prayer Partners: Don’t forget to bring a gift card for your Beacon. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall on Tuesday, November 24th at 6:00 p.m. to pack boxes to send prior to final exams.

Church Office Closed: The church office will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 26th and 27th to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.

Thanksgiving Meals: Thank you! Thank you! You have helped the Beacons by raising enough money to feed 50 families for Thanksgiving!

Longest Night Service: Sunday, December 20th, 5:00 p.m.; Perhaps this has been a hard year for you or you are having trouble getting into the ‘spirit’ of the season. All are welcome to gather for prayerful worship of Jesus Christ, the Light of the world, who is with us even on this (symbolically) longest and darkest night of the year. Childcare provided for infants through 2nd grade.

Montreat Youth Conference: The first deposit of $100 for Montreat 2016 is due on Wednesday, November 18th.

Faith Friends/Thursday Tales: (Preschool-5th grade) Will meet on November 19th, at 3:30 p.m.

WoW Fellowship: We will meet on Thursday, November 19th, at 7:00 p.m. We will be making decorative wreaths. A supply list for each person to bring is provided. If anyone is interested in bringing some goodies, let me know. (18″ grapevine wreath, 3 white accent pieces, 3 evergreen stems, 3 red berry stems, a bow or 15’ of wired ribbon to make one) Wire cutters and floral wire will be provided.
