It’s that time of year again, we’re looking for SUMMER PRAYER PARTNERS!

Each year we ask folks to become Prayer Partners for one of the Beacons or their chaperones during our many summer trips. This has become a HUGE and VERY meaningful part of their summer trips and something they look forward to with great anticipation.

Anyone of any age can be a Prayer Partner here’s what you do:
1) Message Shasta that you would like to be a Prayer Partner.
2) She will message you back the name of the person you will be praying for and which trip they are going on.
3) Write that person a note/letter, Shasta will give them the letters while on the trip. The letter can say whatever you feel led to say, just write from the heart.
4) THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!! Return the letter, no matter which trip your person is going on, in a sealed envelope with the persons name on the front by THURSDAY, JUNE 12th.
5) Pray for your person, daily, during the trip they are on.

See! It’s really simple. Really powerful. Really important. Really fun. So who wants to be a Prayer Partner?

Hello everyone! Let me fill you in on a few things related to the interim process and also provide a timetable of what to expect in the coming months.

First, all the feedback thus far in comprising the Mission Study, something Salem Presbytery requires, has been most helpful. The March Cottage meetings went well and all that information has been gathered and shared with the Session.

The next thing you are invited to be a part of is taking the US Congregational Life Survey which will be given on Sunday, June 1
during the worship service. The worship service will be shortened to allow time and avoid keeping you here “all day!” This survey comes out of our denominational office in Louisville and is an excellent tool in helping congregations gain insight and objectivity about their life and work. I hope you will make extra effort to be here. By the way, children and youth (5th grade and up) are eligible to take it. Within 30 days we should be getting the readout from Louisville.

In July it is our hope to elect our Pastor Nominating Committee. We are working with Presbytery now in finalizing a few things to get the “green light” to elect. Remember, it’s a process, we’re close, and we’ll keep you informed!

Then, in August, a joint retreat will be held with members of the Transition Committee, the Session, and the Pastor Nominating Committee where we will finalize the Mission Study. When the Mission Study is complete it will be shared with you, the congregation! Once the Committee on Ministry of Presbytery approves our Mission Study, the PNC will write our Church Information Form (now called Ministry Information Form) and the official search for a pastor can begin. If all goes well, we foresee the search beginning no later than October.

I hope this information is helpful. Yes, the Presbyterian process seems mightily slow at times, but let’s trust it and proceed . . . And remember, we are not alone – The Lord is with us!

You are a great congregation and I continue to be blessed to be with you during this interim time!

Christ’s peace!

Rob

Hey folks! We are having some MAJOR phone issues, at the church, today. We can hear you, SOMETIMES, but you, apparently, can’t hear us AT ALL. If you need to get in touch with us then we suggest email, facebook private message, or call or text Shasta or Lynn. We are working to get this resolved as quickly as possible, trust me it’s just as frustrating for us as well.
