A Note From Rob

April 13, 2015

Dear Members and Friends of FPCMA!

Words can’t capture all that I feel, but nevertheless, I want to thank you for so many things:
– For giving me the privilege and great blessing of being your interim pastor
– For reminding me that Christ’s Church everywhere is full of faithful and wonderful people
– For the joys of worship and fellowship and service with and among you
– For the opportunity to get to know you and allowing me to be involved with your lives
– For building friendships and relationships, that in the blessed ties that bind us, are eternal
– For putting up with me and allowing me to be me
– For praying for me and supporting me and my family
– For laughing with me and crying with me and I with you
– For the joy of coming to Mount Airy several times a week and discovering its many treasures
– For the incredible send-off you gave me yesterday – Lavinia and I had so much fun opening
all the “goodie bags!” Sully, our grandson, will lack for NOTHING for a long, long time!!

While I say goodbye to you in my role as interim pastor, I do not say goodbye in a permanent sense. From time to time, I hope to come back to visit and worship with you, and perhaps to supply preach on occasion. I am so happy for what lies ahead in the life of First Presbyterian. You have called a wonderful and talented pastor who will provide excellent leadership as you continue to be God’s people and faithful witnesses to Jesus Christ. What I feel best about is that I truly believe you are at a good place and poised and ready for what God has in store for you in the days and years to come. It is truly an exciting time for you!

Thanks again, my dear friends! I love you and will always cherish my many memories with you! “See you down the road!”
Christ’s peace!

Rob
