Meeting of the Congregation

At the recommendation of the Nominating Committee, the Session has called a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, July 27, immediately after the worship service for the purpose of electing a Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC).

The congregational Nominating Committee has met several times in the past two weeks, and after prayerful consideration and deliberation, recommends the following persons to be placed in nomination and be elected as members of the PNC:

Sylvia Chilton
Margaret Cockerell
Derek Higgs
Jessica Hoerter
Dalton Mayes
Peter Pequeno
Blanton Youell

According to Presbyterian polity and order, nominations are permissible from members of the congregation who are present at the meeting provided they have contacted their nominee and that person has agreed to serve. Please keep in mind, however, that the slate which will be proposed has formed over weeks of prayerful thought and consideration. Our thanks goes out to members of the Nominating Committee whose diligence and prayerful attention has been given to the process. They are: Sara Bailey, Bobby Chilton, Bob Keck, Steven Lowe, Aimy McCrosky, Beth McCrosky, and Jane Rountree.

Please remember also that in accord with the “Presbyterian way,” it is the PNC who is entrusted by the congregation to search for, pray for, interview, maintain accountability with the Presbytery’s Committee on Ministry, and eventually call the next installed pastor. Thus, this is a very important responsibility and needs everyone’s prayerful support.

Yes, it is the middle of summer, but we feel the time is right for us to elect our PNC. You are encouraged to make every effort to be present on July 27.

Sincerely In Christ,

Rob Evans
Interim Pastor
