Are you visiting with us? If so, we are glad to have you! A couple of things you may inquire about: 1) Restrooms are located in the upstairs foyer and hallway. 2) Nursery is available to children birth-2 that lasts the entire length of worship. Children age 3-Kindergarten can stay in worship for the Children’s sermon and then have the option of going to Children’s Church. If you have further questions, please see one of our ushers.

Beacons (6th-12th grade) on the Town and Faith Friends (Pre-K-5th grade) Fun and Games and Nacho Night: Join us for an evening of food and fun and games! Parents: You may drop your children off or you are welcome to stay. Dinner will be from 5-6 p.m. We will have games, inside and out, afterwards!

Organ Concert: Will be presented on Aug. 4 at 7:00 p.m. here at First Presbyterian. The organist is Ryan Singleton – member, organist, choir and handbell director at St. Andrew Lutheran Church; a graduate of North Surry High School, now a senior at UNC-G in the choral music education program. Ellen gave organ lessons to Ryan while he was in high school and he now has one more semester of student teaching before graduation. This organ concert is Ryan’s way to give back to the community where he grew up in and thanks for all the many mentors he has had in the past. This concert will also be in preparation for auditions into graduate school as well as a music director for other churches in the future. Please come!

If you download the app, the code is: fpcma. If you received an email with an invite, you won’t need the code, but you will have to create your own account with a username and password. Online giving through Realm is available now as well!

RENEW CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

Thanks to so many who have so generously committed to RENEW, our capital campaign.  If you have not taken the opportunity to make a commitment, please consider doing so by praying: LORD, WHAT WOULD YOU DO THROUGH ME?  Brochures and cards are available in the sanctuary.  If you have prayerfully decided not to make a commitment to the campaign, please let us know by filling out a form and zeroing out the amount.  Many folks give generously and do not have the capacity for giving above and beyond their regular giving.

As you give towards RENEW, please keep any offering for the RENEW separate from your regular tithe and offering. Thank you!

An update on the campaign will be forthcoming in the next several weeks – look for it!

CHURCH FINANCIAL UPDATE

Jan-May 2019 Jan-May 2018
      Income $90,704.37 $101,823.30
    Expenses $83,854.83 $96,185.71
Financial resources are not our mission, but they are the fuel that propels the mission.  -Cliff Christopher

The Budget Committee would like to provide the congregation a brief summary of our finances in the first several months of the year. Our finances are in good shape, due to your faithfulness and generosity.  Our income exceeds our expenses. Our year to this point has been full of worship as we have observed Lenten Bible studies on Wednesday evenings, gathered on Sunday mornings and worshipped our Resurrected Lord on Easter morning. Your tithes and offerings have turned on the lights, allowed us to welcome new staff, provided meals for the hungry and allowed God’s name to be praised. As our summer unfolds, we celebrate the 40 plus kids and amazing volunteers at VBS, and high school and college graduations.  We look forward to middle and high school retreats, Bible studies and numerous other activities within the life of the church.
