EASTER SUNDAY WORSHIP
APRIL 16th – 10:00 A.M.

HOLY WEEK

During Holy Week, the church walks towards the cross with Jesus, abandons him at the cross of Friday, weeps by his tomb on Saturday, and rejoices on Easter Sunday to find it empty and him alive.   Holy Week begins today as we remember and re-enact Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.  Palms were a sign of royalty in Jesus’ culture.  We wave palms as the crowd did long ago to declare Jesus is King.

Holy Week continues on Maundy Thursday when we remember three things: Jesus washed His disciple’s feet, He commanded them to love one another, and He gave disciples the Lord’s Supper.  On Good Friday, we remember His death on the cross. On Holy Saturday, we remember that He was laid dead in the grave.  And, on Easter Sunday, we celebrate His resurrection.

This is a week of a lot of church.   These different services and celebrations invite us to re-enact the drama of Jesus’ triumphant entry, trial, Last Supper, death, and resurrection as a way of deepening our life in Christ and comprehension of the mystery and majesty of his passion.  Come and see!

Palm SundayTODAYChildren, Beacons and any parents are invited to help re-enact Jesus’ Triumphant entry by participating in the Palm Sunday Processional. If you wish to participate, meet in the upstairs foyer at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Holy WeekApril 10, 11 and 12 – Noonday Prayer- Join Griff in the sanctuary at 11:45 am for a short service of scripture and prayers.   The service will last about twenty minutes.

Maundy Thursday – April 13 – Communion Service 6:30 pm Come remember and celebrate Jesus’ last meal with his disciples when he washed their feet and gave them the commandment: Love one another.  Childcare provided.

Good Friday – April 14 – Worship Service 11:30 am Come and hear the story of Jesus’ betrayal, trial, death, and burial and pray for the needs of the world. Childcare provided.

Church Office Closed – Good Friday, April 14 and Easter Monday, April 17.

Holy Saturday- April 15 – Noonday Prayer – 11:45 am.

Holy Saturday Prayer Vigil – Saturday, April 15 – 9:00 pm to 7:00 am. Sign up on the board in the foyer for the Prayer Vigil if you wish to “keep watch”(like the disciples did) in the sanctuary on Saturday evening.

Easter Sunday –
