Worship Notes: Next week’s sermon (September 4th) will be on Psalm 15, for those that would like to follow along.
Don’t be quiet! Don’t be shy! Read these words and find out why …
you should be in the choir. You should be in the choir because:
1.You used to be. 2. You sang in high school or college. 3. We miss you.
4. We need you. 5. Two of the above. The real reason is the benefit and inspiration you will receive from praising God in song. Choir rehearsals start Wednesday, September 7 at 7:30 p.m. Please come!
Fall Bible Study: Join Griff Tuesdays at noon (beginning this Tuesday, September 6th) for a Bible Study on the Book of Ephesians. The study will follow the Fall’s sermon series on Paul’s Letter to the church at Ephesus. Bring your lunch to the fellowship hall and come and spend an hour reading Paul’s brief and powerful letter.
Adult Sunday School Classes: Check out one of our classes on Sunday mornings. Each meets at 9:45 a.m. We have the Odds and Ends Class that meets in the Odds and Ends Room upstairs and the Snell Williamson Ladies Class that meets in the Ladies Parlor. We will begin a study on Ephesians on August 28th in the Fellowship Hall. It will not meet the weekend of Labor Day.
Nancy Dixon to speak on her trip to Uganda: There will be a lunch (Thai Café will be providing the meal – cost is $7.00) immediately following worship on Sunday, September 11th. Nancy will speak about her time there, the friends she made and about their world in Uganda. Please sign up on the sheet in the upstairs foyer or follow the link to sign up: http://tiny.cc/nancy-uganda
College Prayer Partners: Last year, we began this wonderful outreach ministry. We need your help to continue with it this year – so that our College Beacons will know they are loved by their church family. A prayer partner is asked to pray, encourage and send notes throughout the year to their Beacon. If you’d like to be a prayer partner for one of our College Beacons, please sign up on the sheet in the upstairs foyer.
