CELEBRATIONS

Celebration: Dr. Paul Moorefield will be turning 100 on May 26th. Please take a moment to stop by the birthday card station in the Koinonia Room and sign a card for him. We’ll present the cards to him on May 18th in worship. A reception will follow.

Our sympathy is expressed to Sara Bailey and family on the death of her aunt Sybil, who passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2014.

Palm Sunday Banners: Were made by our FPC Faith Friends: Ruby Hoerter, 6; Jay Hoerter, 4, Isabel Hoerter, 2, Christopher Carlisle, 6, and Maddie Youell, 4.

Beacons: Will meet this evening at 5:30 p.m. in the Lighthouse.

Maundy Thursday Service: Thursday, April 17th; 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Office Closed: The office will be closed to observe Good Friday on April 18th and on Easter Monday, April 20th.

Children’s Easter Party: Saturday, April 19th; If your children would like to join us, we will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 3:00 p.m. Signup sheet is in the foyer. Plastic eggs & candy are needed by Thursday, April 17th.

Flowers for the Cross: Please bring fresh flowers with you on Easter Sunday to flower the cross during the worship service.

Beacons: A final head count and a $50 deposit for Montreat is due by Easter Sunday, April 20th.

Confirmation Meeting: Today at 4:00 p.m. in the Lighthouse. Please bring a PRINTED copy of your Statement of Faith if you have not already emailed it to Shasta. Please email it prior to the meeting.

Beacons: Will meet this evening at 5:30 p.m. in the Lighthouse. The Mayes and McCrosky families will provide dinner.

Stroke Survivors Support Group: Will be held on Monday, April 7th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Lenten Bible Study: “Embracing a Life of Meaning” will conclude on Wednesday, April 9th. Study begins at 6:30 p.m.

Lenten Thursday Tales & Little Voices Choir: Thursday, April 10th; 3:30 p.m. All of our Preschool-5th graders are invited to join us as we journey to the cross together. Choir practice for the Little Voices will follow.

Bob Chilton Memorial Bible Study: Thursday, April 10th, 8:00 a.m. at Pages Bookstore.

Keenagers: Will leave at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 10th, for their trip to Lake Norman for a cruise on the Catawba Queen. Lunch will follow in Belmont at the String Bean restaurant. Cost is $12.95.

CE Meeting: In the Odds & Ends classroom on Thursday, April 10th, at 6:30 p.m.

Easter Eggs & Candy: Please bring candy & plastic eggs for the Children’s Easter party by Shasta’s office before Thursday, April 17th.

American Red Cross Blood Drive: The Beacons will be hosting a blood drive this summer. Prior to that, we must secure at least 30 donors. If you would be willing to sign up to be a donor, please call or message Shasta at the church office.
Listening to Sermons Online: We are temporarily unable to load our worship services directly to the church’s website. You can go to http://www.fpcma.sermoncampus.info to hear them. Once you get there, do the following: 1) Locate the sermon you wish to listen to; 2) Click on Click to Play; 3) In the black box, there is a drop-down menu to the left (Media Menu). Hover over the drop-down arrow and select Play Audio. Wait for the sermon to upload. 4) Click on the play button in rectangular box.
