Graduating from High School is a big deal. We do not mark many rites of passage as culture, but this is one passage we do mark. Today, we gather to remind these graduates that they belong to God through Jesus Christ’s life lived for them and the Holy Spirit poured out by the Father on them. Baptism is the sign and symbol of this belonging. As a way of celebrating and blessing them at this time of transition, our service today is structured around baptism. We will all renounce with them the ways of death and confirm with them the way of life stated in the Apostles’ Creed. Then, they will reaffirm the promises they each made when they were confirmed.

There are other graduates in our congregation. Congratulations to them. Their accomplishments are listed below.

Would you like to be a part of the conversation about the future of Youth Ministry at FPCMA? Are you interested in dreaming about how we can draw on the strengths of our small church to craft a vibrant ministry to our youth? If so, please join a group of parents who have had, do have, or will have middle and high school students in reading and discussing Sticky Faith. This book will help us to identify the relationships and best practices in youth ministries, churches, and families that can help set students on a trajectory of lifelong faith and service. Sticky Faith gives parents and leaders both a theological/philosophical framework and a host of practical relationship and programming ideas that develop long-term faith in teenagers. If you are interested, please email Griff at griff@fpcma.com.
