Mark your calendars for various Lenten Activities!
- Wednesday Night Suppers in Lent: Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 14th. Starting February 21st and continuing through March 21st, we will have supper and a bible study each Wednesday night at six. Details to follow.
- Ash Wednesday Worship: The congregation will gather at 7:00 pm on Ash Wednesday (February 14th) in the sanctuary to mark the beginning of Lent and our journey towards the cross and the empty tomb. We will gather for the Lord’s Supper. The imposition of ashes will also be offered.
- The Prodigal God: Recovering the Heart of Christian Faith: Griff is encouraging everyone to read this book by Tim Keller during Lent. This short book is a meditation on the parable of the prodigal son. It will be the basis for our Wednesday night bible study. See Griff if you are interested.
FINANCIAL
Thank you for your generosity in 2017. Through your faithfulness in giving we ended the year on a good financial note. Our total revenues were $227,000 compared to our $243,000 goal. Our expenses totaled $237,000 compared to our budget of $243,000. If you do the math, you’ll see that we spent $10,000 more than we raised. However, given surpluses from the past two years, our bank balance was in good shape at the beginning of the year.
As we head into 2018, we have received 45 pledges in the amount of $162,010. Our goal is 75 pledges in the amount of $225,000. If you would like to turn in a pledge for the year, you can find pledge cards in your bulletins, at each entrance to the sanctuary and in the upstairs foyer.
If you wish to pledge online, you may do that as well by using the url: tinyurl.com/fpc2018.
2017 Year-End Contribution Statements: Can be found on the table in the Koinonia Room. They are listed alphabetically. Please pick yours up today. If not picked up after a few weeks, they will be mailed.
