Death of Marjorie Rees

The sympathy of the congregation is extended to the family of Marjorie Rees.  Marjorie passed away on Sunday, January 19th. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at 2:00 PM at the church with Dr. Rob Evans and Mr. David Beal officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The Rees family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until 2:00 PM in the Ladies Parlor.  Please keep the Rees family in your prayers.

Parent/Youth Kickoff: Sunday, January 26th; Join us for a covered dish lunch immediately following worship as we look at the year gone by and get a glimpse of the year ahead.  Bring your favorite side dish & dessert.  We’ll take care of the meat & drinks.  Sign up with Shasta or use the Doodle invitation that was emailed to you.

The Flowers in the Church today are given to the Glory of God and in loving memory of Catherine Geddings Bagnal & Bill Windley by the Bagnal family.

Beacons: Will meet at 5:30 p.m. this evening in the Lighthouse.  The McCrosky family will provide dinner.

Tuesday Tales: Tuesday, January 14th; 3:30 p.m.  Preschool-5th graders: join us for a time of learning about God and baptism.  Rob will be our special guest.

Keenagers: Thursday, January 16th; NC Museum of Art & Porsche Exhibit; Cost is $18.00. Lunch will be at the Iris Restaurant.  Meet at the church at 8:00 a.m.  Sign up on the Keenagers board if you’d like to go.

IF it is determined that Sunday services need to be cancelled information will be posted on WXII Channel 12, Facebook, Twitter and the Church Website by 8:30 tomorrow morning. Transition Team Meeting: Will be held in Rob’s office immediately following worship today.

Beacons: Will not meet this evening.

Circle 1: Will meet in the Ladies Parlor on Tuesday, January 7th, at 10:00 a.m.

Choir Rehearsal: Will resume on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. beginning January 8th.

Other volunteers are needed.  Don’t forget – we need desserts to serve for this meal.  If you can prepare one or more, please indicate that on the sign-up sheet on the board in the upstairs foyer.  Please help out where you can – this is a wonderful ministry!
