Here at First Presbyterian we do our part to feed the hungry!
Don’t forget to bring your Hunger & Hope Offering this Sunday to worship! We’ll collect our Cents-A-Bility offering that goes to support a number of important outreach efforts in our presbytery, including our own Yokefellow Ministries. We’ll also collect food items for the Yokefellow pantry – the foods of the month are flour and rice.
After worship we’ll gather in our Fellowship Hall for our annual SOUPer Bowl of Caring! This is a nationwide event to help feed the hungry in our community and beyond. Everyone is asked to bring lots and lots of cans of soup (and/or cash donations). Our Beacons will also host a wonderful chili lunch, for which donations will be accepted. At this lunch, members will be able to bid on some wonderful handcrafted soup bowls made by the Beacons, the proceeds of which will go to the Beacons’ summer mission trip.
So bring your flour and rice, bring your cans of soup, bring your Cents-a-Bility offering, and join us for a scrumptious chili lunch where you just may walk away with a handcrafted soup bowl. What a wonderful way to celebrate Super Bowl Sunday!
